Homeless Not Voiceless

This campaign has two purposes:  a video campaign using YouTUBE to allow the homeless an opportunity to be heard and voice their concerns and opinions about how our government is doing, and to lobby the three tiers of government to accommodate these individuals that have no fixed address, and a result, are not given the opportunity to register as voters within their constituency riding. It is also a great opportunity for citizens to better understand the myths and truths of this much ignored humanitarian concern. Think of it as a speaker's corner without the monetary requirement.

As a token of our appreciation for their time and courage, we will offer thanks with a donation that can be of any assistance to them. ie. clothing, food, gift certificates, hygiene products, bus tickets, literature, portable music devices.

If you've ever been skeptical or hesitant to help the homeless, this experience will change your mind and the many misconceptions that surround it, by  providing them with the opportunity to tell their story and be included in political and social debate.

DATE/LOCATION TBA. Those who do not have camcorders will be partnered up with someone who does to assist in interviewing (speaking or holding camera).

Homeless Not Voiceless - Toronto

The Regenesis Homeless Not Voiceless project is an online film project aimed at providing a medium for those who are often ignored: our city’s homeless. Our volunteers go out to the streets and conduct interviews with the inhabitants on various topics ranging from personal stories to current affairs and everything in between. These videos are then posted on YouTube giving our interviewees an opportunity to share their stories, concerns and opinions with the world.

Regenesis Canada is looking for individuals who are passionate about homelessness and poverty issues in the Greater Toronto Area and are committed to the pursuit of equality and social justice to assist in the development and execution of the Homeless Not Voiceless project.
