Regenesis - Toronto

1. Community Gardening - Toronto:
Regenesis Canada is looking for an organized and passionate individual to spearhead the Toronto Community Gardening program.
Inspired by permaculture and guerrilla gardening movements all over the world, the regenesis community gardening program expands the idea of the community garden to include the utilization of a wide variety of urban green spaces from setting up managed community food gardens to planting crops on the sides of office buildings. We strive to show that every plantable space has potential to provide healthy sustainable alternatives to store-bought produce and free access to nutritious food for those less fortunate within our community.  We are not only trying to build gardens in our local communities, but transform our communities into large sustainable gardens.
Duties involved:
-develop annual plan and budget for community garden program
-recruit and manage volunteers
-report regularly to regenesis board of directors
-source green space throughout city for garden projects
-lobby for the conversion of existing cosmetic green spaces into functional garden space
Requirements:
-Strong organizational skills
-Commitment to community gardening, sustainability and social justice
-Knowledge of sustainable gardening practices and permaculture
-Volunteer experience
2. Homeless Not Voiceless - Toronto

The Regenesis Homeless Not Voiceless project is an online film project aimed at providing a medium for those who are often ignored: our city’s homeless. Our volunteers go out to the streets and conduct interviews with the inhabitants on various topics ranging from personal stories to current affairs and everything in between. These videos are then posted on YouTube giving our interviewees an opportunity to share their stories, concerns and opinions with the world.

Regenesis Canada is looking for individuals who are passionate about homelessness and poverty issues in the Greater Toronto Area and are committed to the pursuit of equality and social justice to assist in the development and execution of the Homeless Not Voiceless project.

Project Assistants
A leadership role for individuals interested in taking an integral role in the planning and development of the Homeless Not Voiceless project.
The project assistant role requires strong organization skills and leadership qualities, creative thinking, and a passion for effecting positive change

Film Media/Interview Crew
An essential role required for the success of the project, Homeless Not Voiceless is looking for a crew of individuals to serve as our media team for the project. The media team will be responsible for all activities relating to the goal of successfully conducting interviews with people on the streets. The media/film crew will be composed of technical film people as well as those with strong interpersonal skills who are interested in the extremely wonderful opportunity to interact with persons living on the streets.
Requirements:
-a strong knowledge of/or interest in film (amateurs need not be discouraged, all levels of qualifications are welcome to apply!)
-ownership of film equipment is an asset
-individuals who are interested in homelessness and who are interested in being interviewers for the project are also strongly encouraged to apply

3. Ecovillage Committee Members

Individuals are needed to serve on the following committees:

Building and Design

- Working with our architect

- Developing the design of the building to include community, health, sustainability and well-being as key factors


Finance

- Managing finances and bank account

- approving all spending

- searching for sources of financing

- finalizing the financing plan for the ecovillage

 

Membership

- recruiting and promoting of membership

- managing all memberships

- dealing with membership inquiries and concerns

- finalizing our draft membership handbook

 

Meeting

- booking meeting space

- sending out reminders about meetings

- creating agendas for meetings

- facilitation of meetings

- development of decision-making and voting mechanisms for all meetings


Technology

- searching for "green technologies" and other suitable technologies

- integrating beneficial technologies into the design of the building

 


Regenesis - Thunder Bay

1. Anti-Fluoride Lead Campaigner

- Organizer protest rallies at Pro-Fluoride press conferences

- Issue press releases and media statements about Fluoride to the local media

- Organize the campaign facebook group and meet-up page

- Organize meetings and volunteers

- Promote meetings and recruit campaigners and volunteers

2. Thunder Bay Chapter Leader

- Find a place to hold regular meetings (and film screenings)

- Promote the meeting (facebook, craigslist, posters at selected locations like local natural health shops, and in local media http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_in_Thunder_Bay)

- Organize the meeting (agenda, location, refreshments, etc.)

- Recruit interested people to assist in campaigns and as volunteers
